This mobile lab is based at Garfield County Extension.

The CSUE Mobile Lab registrations are limited to Colorado 4-H Agents.  Contact your local 4-H Agent for details on how to bring 4-H to your event.  Click on the “Event Calendar” link below to view availability.

The Colorado State University Extension (CSUE) Mobile 4-H Energy Lab is a transportable educational resource equipped with projects, activities and materials intended to promote experiential learning in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines with emphasis on energy conversions, production and conservation.

The equipment within the CSUE Mobile 4-H Energy Lab can be utilized for indoor learning opportunities. However, the lab is also equipped with everything needed to set up an outdoor self-contained pop-up 4-H STEM Maker space. This feature makes the CSUE 4-H STEM labs an excellent addition for school fairs, day camps and educational festivals.

The CSUE Mobile 4-H Energy lab is equipped with both solar and wind powered energy capabilities which allows for alternative renewable power generation while in use.  The components for each power source is neatly fastened to display boards for alternative energy teaching opportunities.

Outdoor STEM/Maker Space:  Outdoor Pop-up Energy Lab.
Wind:  Time of delivery: 1hr sessions, No. Participants: 5 teams of 2  – 4 youth/team
Solar:   Time of delivery: varied, No. Participants: 5 teams of 2 – 4 youth/team
Energy Conversions:  Time of delivery: Varied depending on delivery
Science of Energy Kits:  Time of delivery: 6 1/2 hr. stations, No. Participants: approx. 24
Clean Energy :  Time of delivery: several 1hr sessions, No. Participants: 14 – 21
Energy and You :  Time of delivery: several 1hr sessions, No. Participants: 14 – 21
Electrostatics:  Time of delivery: 1.5 hrs., No. Participants: 15 – 30.
Hydrogen Powered Cars:  Time of delivery: 2 hrs. No. Participants: 18 -22 (groups of 2, or 3)
