4-H Home Design & Decor Project

The Colorado 4-H Home Design and Décor Project teaches youth about design, safety, and creating functional spaces.

Units 1-3 focus on understanding color, texture, line, and design; recognizing beauty in natural products; creating useful household items; family safety planning; environmental awareness and recycling; furniture repair, refinishing, and upholstery; and preparing for severe weather. Unit 4 allows older members (11-18) to build on these skills, plan and develop their own project, and create a quality exhibit.

An adult and a child sit on the floor smiling while reviewing assembly instructions, with wooden furniture pieces and hardware spread out in front of them.
